Remembrance Vinyl Plaque
Hi DT Sharon here.
My project today is a Remembrance plaque, which I made for my hubby.
I have used an acrylic plaque which are easily obtainable from a craft shop.
I’ve used a combination of vinyl and card.
Using The Ellipse Tool
Make a circle using the Ellipse tool to make a template to the same size as the plaque you will use.
Inserting Your Images
Next bring in your kneeling soldier and size it to fit your template.
Introducing The Text
I decided to use quite a bold text for my Lest We Forget as I was cutting it in vinyl.
I chose a text and then sized it to fit underneath the soldier image.
Adding The Poppies
I chose a 3D poppy design and brought it into silhouette design.
I resized them to fit along the top left side of the plaque. These will be cut from cardstock.
Cutting Your Materials
Using black glossy vinyl cut out your soldier and text.
Making The Poppies
Cut three of the poppies out of red cardstock and black for the middle, then assemble.
Assembling The Remembrance Plaque
Using transfer tape apply your vinyl pieces making sure to line them up.
Then arrange your poppies around the rim of the plaque.
I really enjoyed making this project for my husband as he served in the army for 25 years and it was a gift for this year’s Remembrance Day.
You could put small LED lights around the base to light it up too.
I decided to make the poppies with card to give it a 3D effect. I think it would make a lovely gift.
