How To Personalise An Old Mirror
Hello everyone!
How is your 2022 going?
For this tutorial, we are going to upcycle an old full length mirror that my parents were going to get rid of and personalize it for my daughter, Olivia.
Items I Used
• Silhouette Curio and large mat
• Silhouette Vinyl
• Mirror
I have decided to theme this mirror with a unicorn, so having a look in the Silhouette Design Store, I have found a simple unicorn head along with a unicorn font.
Stand the mirror up against a wall and map out the design.
I have got Olivia to stand in front of the mirror to I can look at sizes of the design as I want it to sit over her face.
Once you have sized up and measured.
I am going to write my daughters name using a unicorn font and I have sized it to just over 10.5”. this will go across the top of the mirror.
Place your vinyl (colour up) onto the mat
I then click SEND.
Change the material to Vinyl, Metalic and click send.
Once its cut, weed the design.
Insert the unicorn head into silhouette studio by double clicking in library.
Resize the file according to the size of your mirror.
Choose what colour vinyl you are going to use and right click and ungroup
Section off the parts of the design into the different colours of vinyl you are using.
When you have finished cutting out the design.
Weed them all.
Place them out on top of the mirror to see where you want the designs.
When you are happy, stick them down.
And there you have your personalised mirror, fit for any unicorn princess
