A fresh start for 2023! Another great Paper Craft project for your Digital Cutting Machine.

Happy New Year! I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year?

For my first blog of 2023 I am going to create a journal and accessories. It’s great to have New Year’s resolutions and what a great place to write them down.

Craft Materials Used:

• Silhouette Curio (Or a Silhouette or Brother ScanNCut Digital Cutting Machine)
• Cardstock & Paper
• Ribbon
• Stencil Material

There are some great little journal files out there! I have chosen a bow journal to create. I have also decided to create a journal stencil.

I have purchased the file from Silhouette Design Store and pulled it through into Silhouette Studio by double clicking on the file.

Ungroup the file by right clicking.

Have a look at the final design in Silhouette Design Store and work out what colours you want each piece to be and put in sections in Silhouette Studio.

Place the first colour of card onto the mat.

Click on the SEND in Silhouette Studio.

Change material to show: Cardstock, Textured – Heavy (80lb) and change blade accordingly.

Then click SEND.

Cut out each piece of cardstock.

Do the same for all pieces of the journal and for the stencil. You can either use stencil material or card, I have used card but if you do use stencil material, don’t forget to change your cut settings before sending it to cut.

Now is the fun part, putting it all together

Lay all of the pieces out and take the long piece and fold it on the dashed lines.

Place the pages (I have used white card) inside and line up the holes. Thread the ribbon or string through the holes to secure the pages in place.

Get the below or added extra depending on what design you have chosen and glue onto the front of the journal, referring back to the original image if needed.

And there you have your beautiful journal and stencil ready to use.
