Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year to all our customers. Thank you for your continued support.

It’s that time of year when the kids are going back to school and many of my friends are starting at Uni, some for the first time.
This year I wanted to make something super special for a friend about to start their first year at Uni.
The first thing to do is to open your chosen monogram frame file in silhouette studio. Then resize the frame using the scale tab on the transform window.
Make sure that you have the little padlock selected (closed/locked) so that when you resize the frame it stays the right shape. Once I was happy with the size of the frame, I then typed the initial I wanted for the monogram using the circle monogram font.
I then resized this in the center of the monogram frame. I then cut the monogram and frame out using the wood vinyl sheets on the default settings.

I wanted to create a backing piece for the monogram and frame.
To do that I selected the frame and used the external offset tool to create a slightly larger backing piece. I used an offset size of 0.4 cms.
I deleted the circle in the middle of the backing piece as I wanted the backing to be one single piece.
I then cut this out of some gold vinyl I had to match the gold on the notebook I had selected.
Once you have cut out all of the pieces. Use transfer tape to layer the vinyl and wood sheet onto the note book. Make sure you press down firmly so that the vinyl sticks well.

I loved this project.
It made a nice looking notebook into a really personal and thoughtful gift for my friend.
I really can’t wait to give it to her to take to Uni.
