New Year Resolution Chalkboard | Silhouette Chalkboard Cardstock
Happy New Year to you all and I hope you had a happy and peaceful Christmas too.
This week the design team are using chalkboard card in their projects. I saw a quote on a friends Facebook page and decided that it would be perfect for a layout.
I decided that I wanted to use sketch pens on my layout (no surprise there then :0)) and chose a sketch pen border which I resized to fit my page, knowing that I would trim .25 ins from all sides of my white card as I like to have a border around my pages.
I changed the sketch pen colour to blue.
For the title I used Chalkboard Label Arch and for the frames I used Sketch Leaf Frame I resized these to fit my page to hold my journaling and my photograph.
I added them to my design area to check on the size.
Once I was happy with the size I opened a ‘Letter’ sized design area and added the frames and banner.
Then I used ‘Sister’s Sketch Font’ to add my title and journaling. I also added an offset cut line around the frames.
After assessing my design I decided that it was lacking a little something so decided to add two sketch flowers above the journaling and below the photo mount.
I used a black Silhouette Sketch Pen for the black drawing on the white card and a white pen in the pen holder for the white drawing on the chalkboard card.
This is the second time I have used chalkboard card with a white pen and really like the effect it gives – being more permanent than using actual chalk but giving a similar look.
