Mother’s Day Gift Box | Silhouette Wood Paper Sheets
What to get my Mum for Mother’s Day is always a problem, at 90 years old there isn’t much she needs and I usually send her some flowers.
This year she is planning to go on a cruise in May so I thought I would send her a gift card (not the one shown in the box as I have yet to buy the correct one) to get something nice to wear when she is away.
Removing The Score Lines
I, personally, don’t like the dotted score lines that come on most 3D shapes from the Silhouette Design Store.
Sometimes I change them into cut score lines but this time I removed them so that I could score the box by hand.
Preparing The Wood Paper Sections
Remove the sunburst pattern and add to a new design space.
Draw a rectangle around the edge of this – shown in black.
All The Wood Paper Elements
Reduce the sunburst to 95% – this will be cut from wood paper.
Draw two rectangles 3ins x 1.5ins and two rectangles 4.5ins x 1.5ins. these will be panels for the sides of the lid.
You will need to cut the two smaller rectangles from a second piece of the wood paper.
Cutting The Box
I cut my box from two pieces of A4 card
Assembling The Box
It was a very quick job to assemble the box, simply gluing the card tabs and removing the wood paper from the backing and adding to the top and sides of the lid.
What's In The Box?
I think this was a very quick and simple way to give a gift card and actually looks like an expensive gift box which I am sure Mum will keep to put little bits and bobs in!
