Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year to all our customers. Thank you for your continued support.

This week we are using printable cotton for our projects with a Chinese theme.
I decided to make a make-up bag with these cute little Kokeshi dolls on and a Chinese Proverb written in an oriental style font.
I opened a letter sized design space and added registration marks.
I then drew a rectangle 4.76 x 7.75 as a guide for the size of the front of my make-up bag.
I opened the Kokeshi design that I wanted in the centre of my design. Fortunately the cut line and the printed part of the design are not grouped so it was easy to resize the doll to 3.25 tall, which left the cut line the original size and I could delete it.
This was then added to the centre of my rectangle.
I resized the other two dolls and removed the cut line.
They were added either side of the first one.
Next, I Googled Chinese Proverbs & Beauty and found one that perfectly suited my make-up bag.
I used PN Hangulishious Font to write my proverb as this is an oriental looking font. I then added a printed border to my design – using the color picker to exactly match the pink on one of the dolls Kimonos.
All that remained was to cut out my printable cotton and iron it onto my make-up bag. Unfortunately, I found that it didn’t like adhering to the canvas of the make-up bag with just ironing, it had a few wrinkles, so will have to use my heat press on it next time I ‘fire’ it up.
This was quite a simple project to make – I will have to spray my design with some waterproofing spray as I found with a previous project that the ink run if it got wet, no fault of the product I would add.
