Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year to all our customers. Thank you for your continued support.

This week we are using metallic heat transfer vinyl for our projects. I thought that this gorgeous mint one would look lovely as the lettering on a Happy New Year banner.
The Silhouette Cork was perfect for the reindeer’s faces and gave them a lovely ‘furry’ texture against the Kraft base.
I started by downloading this file.
The actual banner pieces were very large and as I only wanted to hang the banner over my French windows.
To do this I opened the Transform menu, chose Scale and then scaled the design to 70%.
I decided that I wanted the outer part of the banner black and the inner part white.
I arranged the maximum number of each onto a 12 x 12 design space.
I added the letters to a 12 x 12 design space and drew a square around each letter – this was to make removing the waste vinyl easier.
I then mirrored the design horizontally.
Once I had cut all the components for my banner it was really easy to construct. I just added a white pennant to each black one and used an iron to add the metallic mint letters.
This was such a quick and easy project to make as the holes are pre-cut so all I had to do, once each piece was made, was to add a piece of string and hang it across my French windows.
