Bat Belfry Lantern
Hi! Today I’d like to show you a little project for Halloween.
This is a really easy but effective project which would look really good with some lights or an electric tealight candle.
Bringing In The File
Bring in your cut files and separate them into white and black images by ungrouping them.
Highlighting your pieces
To make each piece stand out I added a little grey ink to the edges of the white cardstock and highlights in white pen to the black pieces.
You will need to fold on your dash lines to ink some of the white pieces.
Embellishments
Lift the shutter pieces outwards.
Fold the base and adhere the tab to the side of the base.
Adhere the bells and bats.
Adhere the bats to the roof so that the look like they are hanging over.
Adding The Roof
Adhere the tab on the roof part to make the roof.
Then adhere the inner tabs of the roof to the base.
Make sure the side bats on the roof are bent down.
The Insert
Fold the insert piece to make a cube and adhere the tab.
This piece will fit inside the base of the lantern.
This would be a great little project to make with the kids with some help from and adult. Kids could even colour the lantern before it has been folded and theres always little Halloween files in the Silhouette store that you could add or change it up if you wanted to.
