Trust The Magic
Hi it’s Cheryl here again.
Well the festive period is nearly over and we are getting ready to say Happy New Year.
Hopefully 2021 will be a better year for us all after 2020.
Something that we think about is what our resolutions will be. I have decided to be positive so I would love for you to come see what I have made using the Silhouette Premium Carbon Fibre Vinyl.
Craft Materials Used
• Silhouette Premium Carbon Fibre Vinyl
• MDF Board
• Paint
• String or Jute
Open Your File
In your software open your file in the design space and you will see all the text on the mat.
If when you open your file and it looks like this then before you do anything go to View Zoom and choose 50%.
You want to check that your cutting mat is set to Cameo 12 x 12 inches now pick your correct size of mat area in the media size (A4) in the page setup box on the right hand side of your screen.
Measure The MDF
Before we move on you want to measure the area on your MDF and this will now allow you to pick the correct size with your text.
Here you can lay your vinyl on your mat and load into your machine.
Make sure that you have clicked to show the black box around the text.
Now using the small boxes drag them until you have the size you require.
Send To Cut
Once you have done this and you are happy then click send and you will see the lines around the text showing what the vinyl is to cut.
Over to the righthand side you want to make sure your material is set to vinyl, carbon fibre and then you will see the numbers change to reflect that material and once happy with this then down at the bottom click send.
Paint The MDF
Now you can put the vinyl aside and now you want to paint your sign and whilst its drying you want to weed away the waste vinyl and then with your text put some transfer tape and transfer the text onto your sign.
String It Up
To finish your sign then use string or jute to put through the holes and hang it up and watch and wait for the magic.
I absolutely loved this project, it was so easy and so much fun to do especially as I love Christmas just a little haha.
Hand making decorations for Christmas will stand out as being different and you know that not everyone will have that decoration.
Well, can you believe that 2020 is nearly over but I think everyone will be glad to see the back of this year and we can start afresh and that’s where my next project will be.
That’s me for now and I will be back soon with my next blog before you know it.
Bye for now!
